Creating Audio Messages for Summit Phone Systems

Creating high quality audio files for your phone system as not as difficult as it sounds, please use this guide to help you.

To produce a high quality audio file yourself there are a few simple steps to achieve this,
  1. Write yourself a script of what you want to say;
    1. This will help you say what you need to say and ensure you don't miss the important items you want said
  2. Find a quite space to record the file
    1. To get the best results you want to reduce any background noise to an absolute minimum
  3. Use the best microphone you can
    1. This might be a headset used for calls, a pair of headphones or the microphone on a mobile device
    2. If you are not sure of what is best it might be best to try with multiple devices to see what sounds best
  4. Ensure the file is in the correct format for the phone system.
    1.  We require all audio files to be in the following format
      1. Format: WAV
      2. Channel: Mono
      3. Bit rate: 8 kHz
      4. Sampling: 16 bit
    2. You may need to convert the file there are many free converters however here is a link to one we use when needed https://convertio.co/audio-converter/
  5. Listen back to the file and make sure the audio is clear and at a good volume
    1. Please check for any background noise, slurring or distortion in the audio file
  6. Once you are happy with the file or files send them to Summit with a description of how you want them implemented
    1.  Please label the files so we can make sure they are put in the right place for your system
