📱 1. Download the 3CX Mobile App

For iPhone (iOS)

  1. Open the App Store on your device.
  2. Search for “3CX”.
  3. Select 3CX from the results.
  4. Tap Get to download and install the app.

🔐 2. Obtain Your 3CX Welcome Email

To activate the app, you’ll need the Welcome Email sent by your system administrator.
This email contains your unique QR code and configuration details.

If you haven’t received it, contact your IT or phone system administrator to have it resent.

Alternatively, you can log into the 3CX desktop application on your laptop or PC. Once logged in you will have the option to produce the QR code on the top right-hand corner:

📲 3. Set Up the App Using the QR Code

  1. Open the 3CX app on your mobile device.
  2. When prompted, choose Scan QR Code.
  3. Open your Welcome Email on another device (computer or tablet) or print it out.
  4. Hold your phone over the QR code to scan it.
  5. The app will automatically import your extension settings and connect to your company’s phone system.

📞 4. Verify Your Connection

Once the QR code is scanned, the app will display your extension status.
Check the following:

  • Your extension number appears correctly.
  • The status indicator shows Registered or Available.
  • You can see the Dialer, Contacts, Chat, and Meet tabs.

If everything looks correct, your app is ready to use.

⚙️ 5. Recommended Settings

Enable Notifications

To ensure you don’t miss calls or messages:

  • iOS: Settings → 3CX → Notifications → Allow Notifications
  • Android: Settings → Apps → 3CX → Notifications → Enable

Allow Microphone & Camera Access

The app requires these permissions for calls and video meetings.

Enable Background Activity

This ensures you can receive calls even when the app is not open.

🧪 6. Test Your Setup

Try the following to confirm everything is working:

  • Place a test call to a colleague or your desk phone.
  • Receive a call from another extension.
  • Send a chat message.
  • Join a test meeting.

If any issues occur, contact your system administrator for assistance.
