Update Yealink Headset Firmware

How To Update Firmware On A Yealink Headset

This guide will take you through the steps to update the firmware of your Yealink headset. In this example the headset I'll be using is a Yealink WH64.

1. Before You Begin

Supported Devices

Yealink USB Connect supports most Yealink USB headsets and bases, including models such as:

  • WH62 / WH63 wireless headsets
  • BH72 series headsets
  • Other Yealink USB audio devices

(Note: YHS33 and YHS34 do not use USB Connect.)

Requirements

  • A Windows or macOS computer
  • The latest version of Yealink USB Connect installed
  • A USB cable to connect the headset or base to the PC
  • The headset placed on the base (for WH-series models)

2. Install Yealink USB Connect

  1. Go to the official Yealink Support website.
  2. Download the latest version of Yealink USB Connect for Windows or Mac.
  3. Run the installer and follow the setup wizard:
  • Accept the license agreement
  • Choose the default installation path
  • Complete installation

Once installed, launch Yealink USB Connect.

3. Connect Your Yealink Headset and Base

  1. Power on the headset (if applicable).
  2. Place the headset on the charging base to ensure pairing and power.
  3. Connect the base to your PC using the supplied USB cable.
  4. Yealink USB Connect will automatically detect the device.

4. Check Current Firmware Version

  1. Open Yealink USB Connect.
  2. Navigate to Device Status to view the current firmware version of the headset and base.

This helps confirm whether an update is needed.

5. Update Firmware Automatically

  1. In Yealink USB Connect, select your headset or base.
  2. Go to Update Device.
  3. Click Update Now to automatically download and install the latest firmware.

The device will restart during the update.
Do not disconnect the USB cable or remove the headset from the base.

6. Update Firmware Manually (Optional)

If you have downloaded a firmware file from Yealink’s support site:

  1. Go to Update Device.
  2. Select Update Manually.
  3. Browse to the firmware file you downloaded.
  4. Click Upgrade to begin the update.

7. After the Update

  • The device will reboot automatically.
  • Yealink USB Connect will show the updated firmware version.
  • Test audio to ensure the headset is functioning correctly.
8. After the Update

  1. Open your 3CX application.
  2. Click the Settings option on the left-hand side.
  3. Go into Audio/Video in the menu.
  4. Now ensure the Audio/Video settings are correct, using your headset as both the Speaker & the Microphone.
