Summit Internet SIM Card Swap
Summit Internet is providing a new SIM card to existing 4G devices to ensure that all devices are capable or connecting to the best possible service.
There are two different 4G devices to choose from so it is important to follow the instructions for the right one.
Summit 4G NTU
The Summit 4G NTU is the dedicated 4G NTU that provides a static IP address to your router or firewall. The device looks like the following;
To access the SIM card you will need to open the unit up, the bottom section slides off to reveal the cable entry point and the SIM card slot.
Remove the power to the unit, this will be connected using either the POE injector or using the round barrel style connector. Once this is complete you can remove the SIM card.
To remove the SIM card press down on the retaining clip on the right and slide the SIM card toward you.
We often find that a screwdriver or similar pointy object is useful to grip the SIM card.
Once removed simply install the replacement SIM card facing the same direction as the old one was, with the metal contacts facing up.
Reinstall the power to to the unit you should see the power led glow green.
Assemble the unit and install back in its location.
Summit 4G Managed CPE
The Summit Manage CPE has an inbuilt 4G modem and looks like the following;
To swap the SIM card in this unit disconnect the power from the rear of the unit.
Turn the unit upside down to access the SIM card slot, the SIM slot is spring loaded so push the SIM card in and allow it to pop up for removal.
Install the replacement SIM card ensuring the SIM card is installed in the same was it came out.
Turn the unit up the right way and power the unit up.
